Broiler and other meat-type chicken production Chicken farming Layer poultry farming At heights Confined spaces Dangerous Dusty Hot Odours Wet/damp Cold/refrigerated Livestock Poultry and egg production All weather conditions Dirty Work setting Rural area Relocation costs not covered by employer Willing to relocate Responsibilities Tasks Handling animals Monitoring animal health Track and report on current feed inventory Weeding Feed and tend animals Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed Maintain livestock performance records Maintain quality control and production records Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens Maintain work records and logs Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry Write daily basic progress reports Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops Equipment and machinery experience Automated manure handling or storage system Egg gathering system Feeding and watering system Storage and silage system Tractor Farm truck Loader Tillage equipment Welding Hand tools Automated systems experience Bulk grain or feed handling - automated Automated environmental control equipment Manure handling and storage Area of specialization Agricultural livestock service Security and safety Criminal record check Medical exam Credit check Transportation/travel information Public transportation is not available Own transportation Work conditions and physical capabilities Ability to work independently Fast-paced environment Work under pressure Physically demanding Handling heavy loads Combination of sitting, standing, walking Hand-eye co-ordination Ability to distinguish between colours Standing for extended periods Walking Bending, crouching, kneeling Own tools/equipment Safety equipment/gear Steel-toed safety boots Gloves Personal suitability Organized Team player Efficient interpersonal skills Flexibility Judgement Reliability Quick learner Who can apply for this job?
