Tailor Position

Position Overview: A tailor is needed to alter clothing items according to custom specifications and needs. In this position, the Alterations/Repair Specialist will use their knowledge of fabrics, sewing, fashion and the marketplace in order to alter pants for customers. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for communicating about Re-Uniqlo to guests and creating unique renewed clothing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute basic repair services within a timely manner
• Sew hem of pants with industrial sewing machine
• Trim excess threads using scissors
• Measure, cut and sew hems following seams, edges, or markings on pants
• Alter pants' hemlines to fit individual customers
• Working knowledge of sewing machines such as lock stitch, blind stitch, and serge machines.
• Ensure repairs and alterations are done to Uniqlo's standard
• Act as a brand representative for Re-Uniqlo & Re-Use initiatives, repairs, and donations
• Potentially create upcycled clothing items
• Occasionally use POS system to support customer returns
• Maintain brand and operational standards (visual, cleanliness, etc.)
• Manage customer needs and exceed expectations by utilizing the UNIQLO service standard, following the UNIQLO Fundamental Principles and saying the 6 standard phrases

Requirements:

• At least six (6) months prior sewing/ fitting experience in an alterations or tailoring department
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong communication skills, fluency in English is a must
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including evenings and weekends

• Salary: $17.50/HR - $18.50/HR
